General Meeting/Luncheon

Jeff Hunt and The Hon. Frank McNulty will be introducing the Colorado Center for Law & Order.
Colorado is the #2 most dangerous state in the nation.
Colorado is experiencing a public safety crisis. Crime rates are rising, repeat offenders walk free, and victims are being sidelined. The cause is clear: soft-on-crime criminal justice embraced by district attorneys, judges, and legislators who put ideology over accountability. Weak bond requirements, cashless bail, soft sentencing, and declining prosecutions have made Colorado one of the most dangerous states in the nation.
To combat this crisis, we are proud to announce the launch of the Colorado Center for Law and Order - a new statewide organization committed to researching tough-on-crime positions, educating the public and public officials on crime and criminal activity, and restoring trust in public safety in our communities.
Frank McNulty serves as a University of Colorado Regent, representing the Fourth Congressional District. He previously served as a Colorado State Representative from 2007 to 2015 and Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives from 2011-2013. He is the founder of Square State Strategy Group.
Jeff Hunt hosts Denver's top talk radio program, a right/left debate show. For eight years, he was the chairman of the Western Conservative Summit and director of Colorado Christian University's public policy think tank.
Additional Speakers
John Lamb will provide an overview of the anti-TABOR ballot initiatives we will be seeing on our ballot this November. Top of that list is the initiative put forward by the Colorado legislature, Proposition NN. and possibly initiative 195.
Opponents of Proposition NN, such as state Rep. Rebecca Keltie (R-16), have said, "[it is a] multi-billion dollar spending spree built on assumptions, continuous failed budgeting, and blind faith in those that have shown time and time again that they cannot handle money of any amount. The Independence Institute adds, "The lasting impact of Prop NN is that it permanently and fundamentally changes the TABOR limit."
According to Logan McCahill at Complete Colorado, " Both measures aim to allocate more money towards K-12 education through different avenues: Proposition NN asks voters to give up refunds of overcollected tax … “progressive” or graduated tax . While the measures sound appealing to some on paper, voters should ask whether increased education spending actually improves outcomes for Colorado students. The data say no."a
